Broncos tight end Greg Dulcich returned to practice for the first time since he aggravated a hamstring injury in mid-October against Kansas City.Dulcich has up to 21 days to practice before he must be activated from injured reserve or shelved for the rest of the season, but he was a full participant Wednesday, leaving open the possibility he returns as early as Saturday night at Detroit.“We’ve studied body weight, gait, how he runs, what’s different from college,” Payton said of Dulcich, who’s played in only parts of Denver’s season opener and a Week 6 loss to Kansas City due to recurring right hamstring injuries that date to his rookie season. “He’s flown everywhere with his rehab. I do think we’ve got a real good handle relative to moving forward. He’s seen a lot of specialists.“A lot of times, ‘How much weight is the chassis meant to carry?’ I say that respectfully. And then pay attention to it. He’s been diligent, extremely diligent in the recovery and everything he’s needed to ...Broncos RG Quinn Meinerz talks through Los Angeles hospital stay, says he expects to play Saturday vs. Lions

So when I told the staff what I thought was going on, they acted as if (it was serious).”The third-year guard said he’d never e...'Depeche Mode Day' declared in L.A.

To the cheers of distant onlookers, a yellow excavator sliced through a dirt levee to open a long-captive 19th century industrial salt pond to the wild San Francisco Bay on Wednesday morning, allowing tidal waters to gush in to a 300-acre future marsh in Menlo Park. The project – part of the largest wetlands restoration ever conducted on the West Coast – is the latest addition to a growing mosaic of restored habitats for endangered wildlife, while providing flood protection and places to play for local residents.Flanking the north side of the Dumbarton Bridge, the now-barren pond will gain a more natural and lovely palette. Once filled with water and fresh sediments, it will support seeds that float in from adjacent marshes, then plants will germinate. This will welcome the arrival of little crustaceans, like crabs, as well as invertebrates, birds and fish.“This day feels incredible to me. It’s the culmination of years of work to restore the tidal marsh and open ponds for...Video: Armed Pleasant Hill store clerk chases off would-be robbers

COSTA MESA, Calif. (AP) — NFL receptions leader Keenan Allen has been declared out for the Los Angeles Chargers’ Thursday night game against the Las Vegas Raiders because of a heel injury.Allen leads the league with 108 catches and is fourth in yardage (1,243). He set the Chargers’ single-season reception record and became the quickest player in NFL history to reach 900 receptions in last Sunday’s 24-7 loss to the Denver Broncos. The 11th-year receiver, who has 904 catches, did it in 139 games, four games faster than Antonio Brown. Not having Allen in the lineup is a tough setback for Bolts quarterback Easton Stick, who is making his first NFL start after Justin Herbert suffered a broken index finger on his right hand. SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — Deebo Samuel can be his own harshest critic, as evidenced by his description of his 2022 season for the San Francisco 49ers as “awful.”No one would say that about the way Samuel has been playing of late this season as he has regained the form that made him one of the NFL’s most dynamic playmakers in 2021 and has helped carry San Francisco to the top of the NFC standings.“I think he’s at the top of his game right now,” coach Kyle Shanahan said. That’s saying a lot considering how effective he was during his All-Pro 2021 season, when he had 77 catches for 1,405 yards and six touchdowns to go along with 59 carries for 365 yards and eight scores. His 1,770 yards from scrimmage that season have only been topped by Hall of Famer Jerry Rice in Niners history. But an offseason contract dispute led to Samuel coming into camp out of shape. Samuel never fully recovered, leading to his negative portrayal of his 2022 performance when he had 864 yards f...Latest news
